Children
Children's vision is very important and we know that early detection and treatment of eye conditions in children is essential for their vision to develop properly.
As one of the few practices within the Midlands to offer Behavioural Optometry we are specialists in assessing and treating children‘s visual developmental problems. These developmental problems could affect your child’s learning.
Regular Eye Examinations
We recommend that a child has their eyes tested regularly from the age of three. The cost of this is fully covered by the NHS who pay for children's examinations up to the age of nineteen (when still in full-time education). You can also receive a contribution towards the cost of spectacles should they be needed.
Children's Corner
Our children's corner and frame display area aims to make any visit to our practice as enjoyable as possible. We even make the eye exams fun! Some people worry that pre-school children will not be able to do the tests involved in an eye examination. This is not a problem as we have a range of tests each designed to suit the age of the child.
If you are concerned in any way about your child‘s vision you shouldn’t hesitate to make an appointment. Typically problems can be
- excessive blinking
- squinting
- going cross eyed
- complaining of not being able to read the blackboard at school or
- holding books at a very close range.
If your child is showing any of the symptoms listed above please contact us or click on the Optometry button in the menu to read more about what to look for.
Children's Frames
We have an excellent selection of frames for all ages from toddlers to teenagers. We have popular ranges including:
- Barbie
- Action Man
- The Simpsons
- Addidas Kids
- Flexon Kids
It is important that children have a good choice so that they have frames they are happy with and enjoy wearing. We will ensure that a frame fits correctly which is also most important for a child as an uncomfortable frame will not be worn. We make sure that the lenses are providing optimum vision and as with all of our services we give expert advice. We also provide aftercare and repair services for the scrapes that children and their spectacles get into.
Children go Free
We provide an extensive range of stylish frames that are fully covered by the NHS.
All our frames come in different colours and sizes so there will always be one to suit your child.
